How To Draw A 3d Optical Illusion

Whoa!  Is this heart popping out of the folio, or what?

Have yous ever seen those 3D manus drawings?  You know,  the ones that seem to pop out at you?  Well, I was really amazed at how those drawings worked.  Simply I wanted to give the art project aValentine's Mean solar day crafttwist! This past weekend my son and I drew a ton of these 3D hearts.  The results are pretty slap-up (and the procedure is extremely addictive!)

How to Draw 3D Optical Illusion Centre Art

We drew virtually ii dozen or so hearts.  Some hearts came out better looking than others.  Here are some tips that we learned forth the mode.

1.  Cutting out a heart shape from paper.   This will exist your heart template.   (This really helped my son.  It was tough for him to draw a center free paw.)

2.  Using a pencil, trace the heart shape onto a piece of lined (or unlined paper).
Unlined newspaper gives really beautiful results, simply information technology's difficult drawing direct lines.  So the lined newspaper provided overnice guidelines.

3. Then, depict lines through your eye with markers. (Crayons didn't work also for us!)

The lines should be straight on both sides of the heart and curved through the heart.  (Nosotros plant the bottom of the heart to be relatively directly forward and the top curvy bits a bit confusing.  It was tough to keep runway of the sections that should exist directly and those that should be curved.)

Encounter how the eye seems to popular out?  Pretty keen!

Hither'due south a picture of my 3D heart try with unlined newspaper.  See how the lines do vary in altitude?  The 3D result is slightly contradistinct.

(And by the way, did y'all know yous can depict3D Optical Illusion pumpkins and cats too?  It's pretty astonishing!)

And here's a picture of my son's attempts.  (He was really struggling in the showtime, only kept right on at it until we got some popping hearts!)
